This week I reflected upon the events that took place in 2011. Overall it was a blessed year; however, it was definitely a year of peak and valley experiences. Unfortunately for me, the valley experiences seemed to overshadow the joyous moments. I always try to look at each experience, whether good or bad, as an opportunity for growth. However, if I’m honest with myself, I’m struggling with some of the events that occurred or didn’t occur in 2011.
Despite having a sense of mixed emotions, the anticipation of a great upcoming year fosters a sense of renewed hope. One of the things that I’m learning is that we may not always understand God’s plan for our lives. However, if we truly love God, then we have to trust that everything that he allows has a distinct purpose.
