The Barrier of Procrastination

The Barrier of Procrastination

Are there goals in your life that you want to achieve? Yet, you continually find yourself delaying or putting off any effort to make your goals a reality? You might find yourself saying, “I’ll do it next week” or “I don’t have enough time”. This is the barrier of procrastination and it can be a huge inhibitor in your life.

Overcoming procrastination is often the first step towards accomplishing your goals. Consider the following recommendations to remove this barrier:

• Identify the reason for delay (insufficient time, insufficient money, lack of resources, fear of failure, etc.)
• Brainstorm ways to remove the barrier. This process could involve getting insight from friends or associates.
• Set aside specific days and times to work towards your goal, even if it’s only 30 minutes a day. Small efforts can result in major accomplishments over time.
• Establish accountability partners to encourage and motivate you to reach your goal.

“Procrastination usually results in sorrowful regret.” ~Ida Scott Taylor
