As I was styling my hair this morning, I noticed a light strand of hair. I thought to myself, “Is this a gray strand of hair?” To my dismay, it was indeed a gray strand of hair. I immediately started to feel a little sad because my perception of gray hair was linked to getting older. As my somber mood increased, my thoughts quickly shifted to women undergoing cancer treatments. Most of these women lose all of their hair. So, why am I allowing one strand of gray hair to negatively impact my emotional state?
In life, there will be many factors that influence our emotions. Your perception of these factors will determine whether there’s a positive or negative impact on your mental state. Resist the urge to have a gray or bleak perception. There’s always something to be thankful for.
